8) Shipping:

  5. About shipping costs — dimensional weight
    International shipping from Japan is calculated based on dimensional weight (also called volumetric weight), not simply the number of items ordered.
    Dimensional weight is determined by the size of the package, not just its actual weight. This means that a small but heavy item (such as a bottle of sake) may be charged differently than a light but bulky item.

    The practical takeaway: Ordering multiple items together in one shipment is almost always more cost-effective than ordering separately, because the shipping cost is shared across all items in the box. As a general guide, ordering 3 or more items together brings the per-item shipping cost down significantly.
